No Thanks, I Prefer To Generate Money
The idea of Universal Basic Income always sounds great...
But as you begin to understand whats to comes with UBI and the way it will transform society
...it will be good for a few and bad for many!
UBI would be a government program that provides a monthly based payment to all its citizens.
Don't get too happy yet...
Any rational citizen will ponder where would the money for this entitlement program come from?
In recent times a UBI framework named The Freedom Dividend was proposed by failed democratic runner Andrew Yang. To pay for the UBI it would impose higher taxes on the large tech companies and introduce a VAT (value-added tax) the way many other countries already do.
Not a terrible idea except it proposes a solution that would make these said tech companies even more powerful and necessary for the framework to exist. And if the taxation is too much who's to say these companies wouldn't or already are doing the following:
If I can see right through these issues I am sure any CPA can polk holes into the system even further!
Many already are abusing entitlements like housing/section 8 and welfare programs, do we need another?
People learn to exploit these systems and live life with no ambition to progress in life. Many states and some federal laws were proposed to minimize the abuse but one layer of government always seems to undo a common-sense initiative. Like time limits, work for welfare, mandatory drug testing, and many more.
What ideas do you have to better manage these programs?
Add a response to that in the comments below I would love your opinions...
Let's assume somehow UBI gets passed and funded but only available to non-essential employees who were let go or quit due to a pandemic, the job sector replaced by AI/Machine Learning, or just a loser who doesn't want to be a productive member of society. (This is theoretical, but stay with me)
Now the powers that be would know who is essential and who is a non-essential citizen in their country.
... A Few New Rules Would Come Into Play
Many still love the idea of getting money for nothing...
The next problem the government will need to deal with is the increase of $$$ per child but wait we have to control the cost of this program so non-essentials may only have one child and must be sterilized. Right now the more children you have the more welfare you receive.
School is fully virtual and not necessary for non-essentials...
...Every year the number of non-essentials converting into essential citizens decreases.
Just as it is today, the 1% and working-class don't want to associate or live with unproductive members of society or the poor (harsh truth I know), so we need to set some boundaries
Housing for the non-essential community will continue to populate large city dwellings with small apartments provided by the government at a low cost. But of course, you have the option to rent a nicer place within the confinements of the non-essential corridor at a higher price.
The one percent will drive decisions to make it look like the essentials benefit from these changes but it's only done to secure their interest and keep the status quo.
Would it be crazy to think to give free housing in order to keep them in specific

The crime, disease, and the likes become more isolated because it's a fact in lower-income areas crime is high, diseases spread easier within highly populated areas and solutions are slow and not the priorities because these are NON-ESSENTIALS on UBI.
